About Rewire Psychology
Rewire Psychology is a trauma-informed private practice based in Calgary, Alberta. The work here is grounded in neuroscience, nervous system regulation, and a deep respect for how past experiences shape present-day emotions, behaviours, and relationships.
The goal is to create a calm, non-judgmental space where you can understand what’s happening in your nervous system, why certain patterns show up, and how to build new ways of responding. Therapy focuses on both insight and practical tools, so change feels grounded and sustainable.
A Little About Me...
I’m Valerie, a registered provisional psychologist in Calgary, Alberta.
My background and ongoing training focus on neuroscience and trauma-informed care. I’m particularly interested in how the nervous system, attachment patterns, and early experiences shape the way we respond to stress, relationships, and emotions as adults.
In sessions, I try to bring a balance of warmth, curiosity, and straightforward honesty. My role is to help you notice patterns, understand what’s happening in your body and mind, and gently build new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I work primarily with adults and teens who are navigating anxiety, trauma responses, emotional dysregulation, and long-standing behaviour patterns they want to change.

Focused on your nervous system
Therapy at Rewire Psychology draws from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. The work is trauma-informed and paced in a way that respects your nervous system.
Together, we pay attention not just to thoughts and stories, but also to what is happening in your body. The aim is to help your nervous system find more safety and flexibility, so you can respond rather than react, and feel more choice in how you move through your life.
